Isak Hedtjärn is a Stockholm based musician and improviser playing clarinet and saxophone. Being a strong figure in the experimental/improvised music scene in Stockholm, Isak’s work extends to the fields of punk, jazz and swedish folk music. He leads the groups Grismask and Svenska Folkjazzkvartetten and has toured with bands such as Viagra Boys and Fire! Orchestra. His solo work is an ongoing exploration of the sonic possibilities on clarinet. With a wide range of extended techniques he creates a unique musical language including beautiful textures and melodies, percussive sounds and noise that’s way beyond what’s associated with the sound of a clarinet.
