Vytautas Jurevicius, a.k.a. Vytas (b. 1981, Palanga, Lithuania) is an artist working in performance, installation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. His interactive performances serve as everyday life interventions, playfully inviting people to experience emotions while exercising social bonds.
Performances include ‘Here I am waiting to hold you’ in Fort Greene, Brooklyn and Fire Island, 2021; ‘love each other’ at Baltic Pride in Vilnius, Lithuania, 2019; ‘Is Happiness an Illusion’ at the Hessel Museum, CCS Bard, 2019; ‘be happy all together,’ Emily Harvey Foundation, New York, 2019; ‘I wanna see you smile i wanna you be loved,’ Erik Niedling Residency, Berlin. Originating in dialogues with local artists, communities, and organisations to create moments of collective joy and togetherness. During PLX Tjärö 2022 an all day gathering, from dawn till dusk, will bring festival audiences together in nature. The artist will invite the participation of those gathered alongside contributions from XYZ and others.
